Pueblo High School Scholarship

The Elisa Gastellum Memorial Foundation, Inc. awards a graduating senior from Pueblo High School, a $1000 college scholarship.

This scholarship is in memory of Elisa Gastellum, a 2005 Cholla High School graduate.  Elisa had a passion for Mariachi Music. She was involved in the mariachi curriculum program at Cholla and in community groups in Tucson AZ.

Qualifications:

  • Student must be enrolled in Mariachi Class at Pueblo High School.
  • Must have a grade point average of at least 2.5.
  • Must submit an essay on their “Dreams and Goals”. (200 word minimum)
  • Two letters of recommendation must be written on behalf of applicant.  Letters from teachers or community contacts are recommended.  Letters from family member or mariachi instructor will not be accepted.
  • School transcripts must be part of this application.

Evaluation Process:

  • Recommendations are made by mariachi curriculum teachers.
  • Bobby and Terri Gastellum evaluate the above criteria and interview the prospective candidates.
  • A $1000 college scholarship is awarded to student(s) with highest scores. (An average of 2 scholarships are awarded each year)
