The Elisa Gastellum Memorial Foundation, Inc. awards a graduating senior from Cholla High School, a $1000 college scholarship.

This scholarship is in memory of Elisa Gastellum, a 2005 Cholla High School graduate. Elisa loved Cholla, and was a member of Los Potrillos Mariachi from 2001 – 2004.

Qualifications:

• Student must be enrolled in Mariachi Class at Cholla High School.
• Must have a grade point average of at least 2.5
• Must submit an essay on their “Dreams and Goals”. (200 word minimum)
• Two letters of recommendation must be written on behalf of applicant. Letters from teachers or community contacts are recommended. Letters from family members or mariachi instructor will not be accepted.
• School transcripts must be part of this application.

Evaluation Process:

Recommendations are made by the high school mariachi instructor.

Bobby and Terri Gastellum evaluate the above criteria, and interview the prospective candidates.

Award is presented to student with the highest overall score.
